A word from our Founder, LISA COLLINS
Several years ago, I faced a life-changing moment when a severe panic and anxiety attack landed me in the back of an ambulance, on my way to the hospital. That morning, I woke up unable to breathe, trembling, and in tears, bewildered by what was happening to me. The paramedics arrived, took my vitals, and recognized the elevated heart rate and blood pressure.
One particular paramedic stood out. He asked questions, and in my state of panic, I rambled and cried uncontrollably. He inquired about meditation and yoga, to which I responded that I loved them both. He calmly guided me through deep breathing and meditation during that ambulance ride.
Upon reaching the hospital, he diagnosed me with severe anxiety and I had experienced a panic attack. His words stayed with me: “Return to the yoga mat. Take time each day to meditate and release stress.” I was overwhelmed, stressed, and felt trapped in a job I detested, yearning to discover my purpose and live it.
That paramedic became a pivotal part of my journey. I’m immensely grateful for his presence, as he helped me confront stress head-on. I heeded his advice, returned to my yoga practice, and refused to let stress control my life.
